Rowland Medical Library Resource Spotlight: DynaMed
DynaMed is a clinical decision support resource from EBSCO. It provides evidence-based summaries of conditions with recommended actions using DynaMed’s evidence-based methodology, systematic literature surveillance, and clinical expertise of the editorial team. DynaMed continually monitors medical research as it is published, including journals, journal review services, review collections, guideline collections, and other relevant sources. It provides links to primary references with level of evidence labels so users can quickly identify the quality of the best available evidence.
DynaMed has been recently enhanced with additional content under DynaMed Decisions tab. It contains interactive tools to support clinical decision-making based on the context of an individual patient’s risks, comorbidities, values, and preferences. It includes decision aids that help facilitate meaningful provider-patient conversations.
One feature that sets DynaMed apart from other clinical decision support resources is the ability to create an individual experience. Users can create a personal account within DynaMed, which allows them to select preferences, follow a particular topic, and register for alerts.
